The club holds regular meetings at 8:00pm on the first Thursday of every month (except January) at the rear of the Shannons Insurance Office, 74 Newcastle Street Fyshwick ACT. The aims and objectives of the club are to encourage interest in the ownership, restoration, preservation, maintenance and the use of 48/215 (FX) and FJ model Holdens and other early model Holdens and their commercial derivatives whether stock or modified. We also hold monthly runs which may include car show events, BBQ’s, social gatherings, bowling nights and general get-togethers. Our members regularly attend motoring shows both in Canberra and Australia wide. The club caters to members from Canberra and surrounding regions, and as far and wide as Yass, Cooma, Goulburn and the South Coast. The club always welcomes new members whether you have a car or not. If you are interested in early Holdens why not come along to our next meeting, everyone is welcome. The early Holden’s built after world war II began Australia’s love affair with the Holden, the 48-215 (FX) model was the first Australian built car which was designed and priced for the average Australian family. |

FX-FJ Holden Nationals 2006 - DVD In December 2006, the Australian Early Holden Federation held its bi-annual Nationals event hosted by the FX-FJ Holden Car Club of Canberra. More than 150 cherished early model Holdens purred into Canberra for the event from all states except NT. The Show and Shine” was held on the Lawns of Old Parliament House, opposite Questacon in Canberra. Judging took place in a number of categories including original, restored and modified, Trophies were awarded at the Presentation dinner. This was the largest gathering of FX-FJ Holdens in Canberra since the early 1980’s and a great opportunity to have seen some real Australian icons.
